Opportunity Zone a winner, finalist in awards programs

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

It's been said that a job well done is its own reward.

But it's nice to get an atta boy for what you do.

The Opportunity Zone recently was honored by the International Association of Business Communicators' Heritage Region with an Award of Merit in the Electronic and Digital Communication category.  Our agency partner Converseon entered the Opportunity Zone in this competition.

And, the Direct Selling Association (DSA) just notified us that the Opportunity Zone is one of three finalists in DSA's annual "Industry Innovation Awards."  This annual award recognizes direct selling companies that have "developed an innovative approach to some aspect of direct selling" for "conceptualizing and implementing programs that are not common in the industry."  The winner will be announced during the DSA Annual Meeting in June.

When many of you think of Opportunity Zone, you may think about the bloggers who share their thoughts here.  But there are a lot of names and faces you don't see who are critical to this program's success.  Jeff  Bosch in IT, for example, was the project manager who helped us launch the Zone and helped take our ideas and make them happen.  Anna Bryce and Katie Pearsall have served as editors in the Zone since its launch, moderating comments, finding answers to questions and helping keep the conversation going.  There are designers in communications and developers in IT that are too many to mention but who have played key roles in its evolution and ongoing operations.  They're the real winners and the folks who deserve a hearty round of applause!

Congrats !!  I have been impressed with the Opportunity Zone blogs.

I do have a question or request. Last September, you asked for comments about the stumble-in leads policy and the potential of changing it. Would you post what it was and what it was recently changed to?

The IBOAI has announced a new leads policy, but their moderator seems to have forgotten what it used to be. A clarification would be very helpful.

I went to look at the May Amagram, but the online .pdf file for it is corrupted. I have not found an announcement from the Corporation.

Thanks.

Hi,

I would like to make a few suggestions that perhaps could increase sales from customers.

1) Catalog to Clients -  Would be possible to have Quixtar send a catalog for every first order from registered client or auto sales? This would exposure the customers to others products that he/she may not be aware that we offer.  As far as the cost of sending the catalog, Quixtar could deduct it from the receiving IBO profit for that sale. Nobody would have a problem with that being that we are the one benefitting from the PV and profit.

2) Client ID Card - One issue that we encounter from time to time is registered clients not remembering their client #.

2a. If Quixtar could send them a Client ID Card containing the basic information for them to have in their wallets, this could increase sales significantly as well.

2b. Another option would be to have (like the Ribbon Program), approved business card that we can buy and send to our registered customers.

2c. Having the registered client be able to use their email address as a login like everyone else is doing would also make the ordering process much easier for them.

3) Shipping - There are a lot of great incentives for IBOs to qualify for free shipping, but realistic, not everyone is able to afford the minimum $750.00 requirement to take advantage of this offer.  In the other hand, the DITTO program is a wonderful way for Quixtar and IBOs to have a predictable upcoming volume.  Perhaps, having a FREE SHIPPING incentive for DITTO delivery of 150PV or $400.00 would increase volume on a predictable manner and everyone would benefit.

Congratulations, Beth and the rest of the team! Indeed nice to get affirmation. Even more significant is the increased transparency that the corp. has shown thru this process.
